There is a file type you may see if you use an Apple product and Airdrop a file to your computer. This is a .heic (HEIC) file. There are some free conversion sites when you search online for something like "convert heic to jpeg". If you text or email the image to yourself it will be a .jpg, but Airdropping keeps it in a .heic file format. You know, just so you know. :-)
